When the Door Doesn’t Open, Build a Window
We have all been in a position where we're up against the proverbial rock and a hard place, surrounded by impossibility. It's a very tough place to be.
It feels hopeless and heavy.
I was in one of these situations recently. I got a no when I was hoping for a yes, and had to adapt my plan from there.
Even when the world looks entirely black and white, even if it looks like there is no opportunity, you can create something. This is your power as a human, you are a creator. This world is far more grey energy than it is black and white unchangeable substance. You just need to know how to work with it.
Start with this perspective shift: This is going to work out, so I'm going to creatively figure out how.
Take the word 'impossible' right out of the equation. It's usually just fear speaking.
As you creatively rethink your situation, understand that you may have to relax your expectations a bit. This does not mean you settle for less. Remember that opportunities that are currently on your radar screen of awareness are limited, meaning that there could be something amazing just around the corner that you couldn't have expected or anticipated.
Sometimes that 'No' turns into a powerful redirect to something far more fitting, so have faith in this process.
Letting go of specificity means placing more of your focus on the feelings you're trying to create. Chase that energy and you will find much more freedom. Ask yourself which actions will take you closer to those feelings you're looking for. Turn those thoughts into next action steps and, however slowly, start moving forward.
The world is energy and you will start noticing it shifting. As you put energy out, it returns with opportunities for change. By holding an image of a desired outcome in your mind and actively chasing it, you create your own hope in the darkness.
Nobody else has to see this vision but you. Hold onto it.
This is how you can fight your way out of any tight spot, by believing that you will win no matter what because you have decided to make adversity the best thing that ever happened to you, and taking action accordingly.
If you have a desire to make things better, chase it. No situation is impossible.
